MEDICAL TREATMENT VISA
(Temporary)
This is a temporary visa facilitating medical treatment in Australia, organ donation, medically unfit to depart or to provide support of a person who has applied for this visa.

You genuinely intend to stay temporarily (unless exempt)

Have adequate financial means to support yourself (or access to adequate means) for the duration of your stay

Subclass 116 / 836
CARER VISA
(Permanent Visa)
This is a permanent visa for carers of Australian relatives who need long term care and do not have access to reasonable care options in Australia.

Basic eligibility - visa applicant:

You are the carer of an Australian relative who will require care for at least 2 years with direct assistance with daily life
-
Care assistance provided cannot be reasonably provided by any other relative in Australia or available government services
-
Sponsored by your Australian relative (or their cohabiting partner) who is an Australian permanent resident, citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen
-
Meet standard health and character requirements
Basic eligibility - Australian relative sponsor:

At least 18 years old

You must be usually resident and settled in Australia for at least 2 years as a permanent resident, citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen

Provide an assurance of support if requested

Subclass 838
AGED DEPENDENT RELATIVE
(Permanent Visa)
This is a permanent visa that allows older single persons who are financially reliant on a Australian relative living in Australia to move permanently to Australia

Basic eligibility - visa applicant:

Must be of retirement age and single

You have been financially supported by your Australian relative for at least the last 3 years
-
Sponsored by your Australian relative who is a permanent resident, citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen - or the partner of your relative who is a permanent resident, citizen or New Zealand citizen

Meet standard health and character requirements
Basic eligibility - Australian relative sponsor:

At least 18 years old

You must be usually resident and settled in Australia for at least 2 years as a permanent resident, citizen, eligible New Zealand or New Zealand citizen

You have been financially supporting your aged dependent relative for at least the last 3 years
-
Provide an assurance of support if requested

REMAINING RELATIVE VISA
(Permanent Visa)
This is a permanent visa that allows an overseas relative who has no other remaining relatives living outside Australia to move permanently to Australia

You have no near relatives, other than your Australian relative

Sponsored by your Australian relative who is a permanent resident, citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen - or the partner of your relative who is a permanent resident, citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen

Australian relative includes: parent, brother, sister, step brother or step sister , OR child/step child over 18 who is not dependent, or under 18 who is not in the care and control of the applicant
You must be IN Australia at the time of application for this visa subclass
